Our Story

Parsippany’s Best Pizza is an Italian restaurant located in Parsippany, New Jersey. A family-owned business with savory foods served in a comfortable setting. The Gencarelli and Fernicola Family opened shop in 2014 and has been the talk of the town ever since. The success of Parsippany’s Best Pizza comes from many things such as Italian recipes that are heirlooms. The kitchen’s concept is to create dishes as traditionally Italian as possible, while skillfully substituting and supplementing local, fresh ingredients. The result is a uniquely Italian menu with a twist of New Jersey Style Pizza. 

THE GENCARELLI AND FERNICOLA FAMILY

The two families built a partnership and started the first Italian restaurant in 1984. Instantly, It was a great success and customers couldn’t get enough. They then opened several locations throughout California and New Jersey which are still family owned and operated today.

GIOVANNI FERNICOLA, HEAD CHEF

Giovanni Fernicola figured out his passion for culinary at an early age as he would help his grandma cook in the kitchen. A few years later, he pursued his passion for cooking by working for many local Italian restaurants. Fernicola took a few years off the restaurant scene and joined the military. Upon joining the military, he was a chef and his military fellowships couldn’t wait to devour his cuisines.

After the military, Giovanni Fernicola took a vacation to America and fell in love with the girl of his dreams. The Gencarelli family soon discovered his passion for food and attention to detail with every dish. Both families put their thinking caps on and knew they needed to start a restaurant together.
